Getting back on track

Ok so I have not been on for a while and can only apologise for that.. It certainly is not so easy when your a single parent of 6 and add a few drama's to that and whey hey all of a sudden no time to spare :( I was going to restart with a new fresh blog but the blog name means a lot to me and also I have not been idle over the last few months absolutely not! and I think I will just carry on from this blog as it will be interesting to see how much has changed around here as I have done quite a bit of decorating, I am starting lots of new projects and I have started up my camping again which as a large family is cheap and fun. We managed a camp at Weymouth on my birthday (20th May) and hopped on the ferry to Guernsey for the day  as foot passengers for £12.50 (adult) and £7.50 (child) we had such a beautiful day the weather was fantastic and went to the lovely Cobo Bay.

We also went shopping in St Peter's port where I managed to find a shopping trolley which almost has a vintage feel about it.

I will end this post with a few pics of one of my WIP.....

I have a lot more to show over the coming posts. It's good to be back :) x

I love Red

I cannot help having bits of  red around the house I just love red!, red poppies and red hearts and its seems to be creeping up in a lot of rooms here including my bedroom.

I just love waking up in this room and relaxing with my knitting or crochet I also love to sew in here or read books or read blogs on the net :).

It's here in the early hours of the morning that I get my ideas for the project that I am going to start next and believe me there are a few of those maybe even too many all going at the same time.

Red also reminds me that Valentines day will be here soon so it's time to start making some red hearts to hang on my fireplace as I'm going to have a little Valentine's day with the kids and decorate the house a little (will post some pics) on the day.

There are also others that like red in my house....

My cheeky little kit-kats Teddy Bear and Buddy Boo x
Ok so on that romantic note I am going to feed the kids and get them bathed and in bed and snuggle up in this freezing cold night in my cosy red room.

Thankgod it's friday :)

Wow what a week and a half that has been... I have been very busy decorating changing children into different rooms so it has been VERY busy here and not too much craft has been done :(. However I am going picture heavy today on my blog with a runner I made for my living room table and some recent purchases I brought with a voucher that my daughter Miss Strawberry Blonde bought me for Christmas, I also would like to add that Miss Strawberry Blonde got her first test results at Uni and got a 1st class in her test and that is the highest you can get so im really happy so maybe she is not party party partying whilst at Uni after all as us Parent's dread :)

So here we go of to the stores with voucher in hand.....

Firstly was this lovely bright coloured bowls the actual price on them was £19.50 and I was going to buy them at that price anyway  but whey heyyy they came up half price at the checkouts so I was very happy and went and looked some more to use my voucher up :)...

and I bought two beautiful candle holders that were £6 each and they are really lovely the candles smell of sweet peas but |I won't be lighting these ones as I just want to keep them nice they are absolutely gorgeous they sell them in yellow too and they were also nice but I brought the pink ones.

Now for a little bit of kind of latest craft I wanted a runner for my table at Christmas but it seemed a waste to just do a Christmas themed one and take it off so I made a nice red one with hearts on that I could use all year round ....

It really brightens up that corner where my table is and was very easy to make I added some fine sparkly tulle with sequins on to make the hearts, my sister sent me presents one Christmas a few years ago wrapped up with this fabric so it's been extra special to be using that pretty fabric into something for our home.

Have a lovely weekend.

Bunnykins loves ballet

Well I have hooked and hooked and hooked hexagons but can never do just one project at a time and as this year I'm going to make more crafty things then ever I took myself down to my local Hobby Craft with a £5 off voucher in hand. I always have a good look around and get nice and dreamy in Hobby Craft as our one is nice and big but today I knew exactly what wool I wanted as my mum is just knitting herself a lovely crofter cardigan and its looking stunning.

I chose a lovely colour called Loganberry to make a Ballerina cardigan for my Miss Bunnykin's, I love the way all the different patterns and colours knit up it speeds up my knitting somewhat especially as I have my daughter waiting on the wings for me to finish.

I will post up this little Cardi as soon as I finish it which I'm sure won't be long as I'm having a lovely relaxing time this evening watching Come Dine with Me and knitting.

Hope you are having a lovely evening too.

Cosy Crochet

Well this weather is not up to very much today, but it's always a great excuse to cosy right up and craft :). At the moment I have a project that I am doing for my oldest daughter Miss Strawberry Blonde. Miss Strawberry Blonde already made me a proud mum the day she was born but in September I had an extra special extra heaps of proudness the day my daughter moved in to her own accommodation to start Uni at the still very tender age of 18. Me and her Nan had already cried lots of tears the day we found out she had got in as it's not always been easy with my little lot as I'm a single mum of six and I try my best but there is not always the quality time for each child as I would like.

The day my daughter moved in I took note of the colours she has in her room and this is what I'm making for her...

A nice cosy warm Uni blanket that she can wrap herself up in on those study nights. At the moment my hexagons are coming with me everywhere I was even sitting in a Restaurant in Greenwich hookying away whilst waiting for my lunch and in the car whilst waiting for my children to come out of school and every other spare moment I get. These hexagons are ever so easy to do, I only taught myself to crochet last year and I cannot wait to start sewing in the ends and blocking and putting it all together.

Have a lovely cosy crafty rainy day.

New Year, New start and New blog....

Hi and Welcome to anyone who drops by. I am a very busy mum of 6 children and I am very much on a craft mission this year with a view to also refurbish my house. I have made a start on the refurbish in 2010 but have loads more left to do...

this is the start of my kitchen refurb but I have no little cafe curtains made yet so I will be having lots of fun making those and all the other little things that will make our kitchen cosy.

In my blogs I will be including some work from my youngest daughter's little Miss Red and little Miss Bunnykin's aged 8 and 9 respectively who had new big girl sewing machines bought for Christmas and they cannot wait to have some lessons from Mum and I of course cannot wait to teach them.

Anyway just a short little first post as I have a dinner to cook and some relaxing crochet WIP to do this evening.

Have a lovely evening
